Many PDF tasks sound similar but produce different outputs. Merge joins complete files; Organize reorders or deletes pages inside one document; Split makes several files; Extract creates one selected-page copy. Rotate changes orientation, while Reverse changes the complete sequence. Choosing by the required output prevents repeated downloads and accidental duplicates.
For a complex job, make structural changes first: merge, remove, reorder, rotate and crop. Then convert images or recognize scanned text. Add page numbers, watermarks and a visible signature after the page layout is final. Compress and password-protect only the reviewed distribution copy. Keep intermediate files until the final result has been accepted.
PDF to Text extracts characters already stored in a digital PDF; OCR is needed when words exist only in scanned images. JPG to PDF assembles photographs into pages, while PDF to JPG creates visual page copies and does not retain links or selectable text. Grayscale can prepare monochrome printing but may remove meaning from color-coded charts.
A password encrypts access but cannot control what an authorized recipient does after opening the file. Unlock requires the known password and proper authorization. Watermarks communicate status or ownership but do not prevent copying, and a visible signature is not the same as a certificate-based digital signature. Preserve legally significant originals and follow the recipient’s formal requirements.
Open the output in a second reader and confirm page count, order, orientation, small text and page edges. Test links, forms, searchability and bookmarks where they matter. Operations run locally in the browser, so the chosen file is not uploaded to the site, but large documents still depend on device memory and downloaded copies must be stored safely.
