Privacy Policy
PDF Online Free is built around one principle: your documents stay on your device. This policy explains what we do — and, more importantly, what we do not do — with your data.
Last updated: 11 July 2026.
In short: we never receive, upload, or store your PDF files — every tool runs locally in your browser. To keep the site free we use Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which may set cookies; in the EU/UK these run only after you accept the cookie message, and you can reject them.
1. Who we are
PDF Online Free ("we", "us") provides free, browser-based PDF tools at pdfonlinefree.com. For any question about this policy or your privacy, you can contact us at [email protected].
2. How your files are processed
When you use any tool, your files are read from your device and processed entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. The resulting file is generated on your device and downloaded directly to your disk. Your documents are never sent to our servers or to any third party for processing. When you close or reload the page, any temporary data held in memory is cleared.
3. Information we collect
We do not ask for, or collect, personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no newsletters. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your PDF files, images, or any content inside them
- Filenames or document metadata
- Your name, email, or other personal details (unless you choose to email us)
We do use Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which collect aggregate usage and advertising data through cookies — see sections 4 and 5 below.
4. Cookies and consent
This site uses cookies and similar technologies from Google Analytics (to measure aggregate, anonymous usage) and Google AdSense (to serve ads that keep the site free). In the European Economic Area and the UK, these cookies are set only after you give consent through Google's cookie consent message, shown on your first visit. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from that message. Strictly necessary cookies needed to display the page may always be set.
5. Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used, so we can improve it. We also use Google AdSense to display ads that keep the site free. Google may use cookies and your device and usage data to measure traffic and to show and personalise ads. In the EEA and the UK, ads and analytics run only with your consent, collected through Google's certified consent message (CMP). Learn more in Google's Privacy & Terms, and manage personalised ads at Google Ad Settings.
6. Third-party libraries
To run PDF processing in your browser, the site loads open-source JavaScript libraries (such as pdf-lib, PDF.js and JSZip). These libraries are hosted directly on this website, so no third-party CDN is contacted to load them. The one exception is the OCR tool (scanned image to text): it uses Tesseract.js, which downloads its recognition engine and language data once from a public CDN the first time you run OCR. In every case only library code is fetched — your documents are always processed locally and never leave your browser.
7. Hosting and server logs
The website is served as static files. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamp) as part of normal HTTP delivery and security. These logs are unrelated to your PDF content, which never leaves your device.
8. Data retention
Because we do not collect your files or personal data, we have nothing to retain or delete on your behalf. Any technical hosting logs are kept only for the limited period needed for security and operation.
9. Your rights
Under data-protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR, you have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data, and to object to processing. Since we do not collect personal data, there is normally nothing for us to act on — but if you have contacted us by email and want that correspondence deleted, write to [email protected] and we will comply.
10. Children
PDF Online Free is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be available on this page.
